SolaX Solar Inverter Fault Codes

SolaX is a popular brand of solar inverters used in Australia and many other countries. Like any electronic device, SolaX solar inverters may experience faults or errors that can impact their performance or prevent them from working altogether. When a fault occurs, the inverter's built-in fault detection system will generate a fault code to help diagnose the issue.

On this page is a list of SolaX Solar Inverter fault messages and the manufacturers recommendations on how to troubleshoot the fault or error. This section will help you narrow down the source of any problems you may encounter. Please read the following troubleshooting steps.
  • Check the warning or fault messages on the System Control Panel or Fault codes on the inverter information panel. If a message is displayed, record it before doing anything further.
  • Attempt the solution indicated in the table below.

Please Note: All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician.

To troubleshoot a solar power inverter issue, you can start by disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery. Then, reconnect these components carefully. If the inverter fails to return to its normal state, it is recommended that you seek further assistance from a local solar power expert to resolve the problem.

CAN1 Fault

CAN communication fault
If you're experiencing issues with your solar power inverter, try disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery. Once you have disconnected these components, reconnect them again. If the inverter does not return to its normal state, it is best to seek assistance from a solar power expert in your area to further diagnose and address the issue.

PV Config Fault

PV Connection Setting Fault
You need to reset the PV connection for your solar power system, follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific setup. If resetting the PV connection does not return the inverter to its normal state, it's recommended that you seek the help of a local solar power expert to further investigate and address the issue.

Inv EEPROM Fault

Inverter EEPROM fault
Try disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery, and then carefully reconnect them. If the inverter does not return to its normal state, it is recommended that you seek further assistance from a local solar power expert to diagnose and resolve the problem efficiently.

Relay Fault

Relay Fault
First try disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery, and then reconnecting them. If this does not restore the inverter to its normal state, it is advisable to seek assistance from a solar power expert in your area for further diagnosis and resolution of the issue.

Sample Fault

The detection circuit Fault
Start by disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery, and then reconnect them. If the inverter still does not return to its normal state, it's recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

RCD Fault

Residual Current Device Fault
You can check the impedance of DC input and AC output. If the impedance values are outside the recommended range, follow the manufacturer's instructions to address the issue. If that doesn't help, try disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery, and then carefully reconnect them. If the inverter still fails to return to its normal state, it is recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

Fan1 Fault

Fan Device Fault
First try disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery, and then reconnect them. Additionally, check to see if the inverter's fan has stopped due to dust or other foreign objects. If the fan is obstructed, carefully remove the obstruction and clean the fan if necessary. If these steps do not return the inverter to its normal state, it is recommended that you seek assistance from a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

Fan2 Fault

AC HCT Fault

AC Current Sensor Fault
Start by disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery, and then carefully reconnect them. If this does not return the inverter to its normal state, it's recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

OverLoad Fault

Over Load in EPS Mode.
Turn off any high power devices connected to the system and press the "ESC" button to restart the inverter. If the inverter does not return to its normal state, it's recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

EPS OCP Fault

Over Current in EPS Mode.
Start by ensuring that the load power is within the EPS power range. If the load power is within the recommended range, check to see if any nonlinear loads are connected to the EPS. If any nonlinear loads are present, remove them and check if the inverter can recover. If the inverter does not return to its normal state after performing these steps, it's recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

DCI Device Fault

DCI Device Fault
Try disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery, and then carefully reconnecting them. If this does not return the inverter to its normal state, it's recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

EPS Relay Fault

EPS Relay Fault
Try disconnecting the PV+, PV-, grid, and battery connections, and then carefully reconnecting them. If this does not return the inverter to its normal state, it's recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

TZ Protect Fault

Over current Fault.
First, wait for a while to see if it returns to its normal state. If it doesn't, try disconnecting the PV+ and PV- connections, as well as the battery, and then carefully reconnecting them. If the inverter still doesn't return to its normal state, it's recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

Grid Lost Fault

Grid is Lost.
If there is an interruption in the utility power, your solar power system will automatically reconnect once the utility power returns to normal. However, if your inverter fails to return to its normal state after the utility power has been restored, it's recommended that you seek the assistance of a local solar power expert for further analysis and resolution of the issue.

\Grid Volt Fault

Grid Voltage Out of Range
Once the utility power has been restored to normal, your solar power system will automatically reconnect. However, if your inverter fails to return to its normal state even after the utility power has been restored, it's advisable to contact a local solar power expert for further assistance in analyzing and resolving the issue.
